Every year school administration offices and classrooms are outfitted with additional technology equipment. Although inventory items such as desk top computers are not considered major assets, they are essential for the educational process and the sum dollar value of these items are considerable. Managing this type of inventory is significantly more complex due to ever advancing and changing technology. Because of the variety of capabilities and configurations these items may have, it is not informative enough to simply catalog and track a desktop computer as an iMac or HP Pavilion. In order to effectively manage this type of inventory administrators must be able to also catalog the attributes of an inventory item and be able to search and report by those attributes for various reasons such as capability, hardware upgrades and software updates as well as location and value.
The iSIMS Inventory Tracker is a fully automated barcode system designed for efficient cataloging and tracking of hard good inventory items and their attributes. The iSIMS Inventory Tracking module is intended primarily for managing and tracking technology inventory items and their attributes such as computer work stations and printers however the Inventory Tracker can be used for almost any type of hard good inventory item.
Inventory Tracker provides a number of inventory status reports including search and report by attribute for a variety of inquiries such as inventory item location, cost, service life, upgrades and updates. Reports are available on multiple organization levels including district, school site, department, and classroom.
